Dynamic Template Tags

Define and customize template sections directly within your template document—no dashboard setup required.

What are Dynamic TemplateTags?

Dynamic tags allow you to define sections—such as coversheet, extra sections, static sections—as well as individual fields like experience and education, directly within your Word Full Reformat or Preserve Original template. No setup is required in the Organisation Dashboard beforehand.

Key Benefits

  • Quick and easy template setup
  • Reuse the same tag across multiple templates with different section names
  • Missing sections are automatically created when you upload the template
  • Ensures consistent section naming and order across documents

Examples of Dynamic Template Tags

  • _css_n1[Availability] → Coversheet section will be named "Availability"
  • _es_n1[Hobbies and Interests] → Extra section will be named "Hobbies and Interests"
  • _exp_d1[Company Blurb] → Custom field inside the Experience section will be named "Company Blurb"
  • _edu_section_header[Education History] → This customizes the name for the Education section's header

How Dynamic Tags Work

If you use a tag like _css_n1 without brackets, it will use the default label set in your Organisation Dashboard.

If you include a label inside squarebrackets, like _css_n1[Availability], the template will use the custom name you provide on the frontend edit panel and also on preview and export.

If a section (such as cssn_4, cssn_5, or cssn_6) does not already exist, it will be created automatically with a blank default label.
