Bullhorn Troubleshooting Guide

Use this guide to check and resolve common issues when using Allsorter with Bullhorn.

This page explains what to check when Allsorter is not working as expected with Bullhorn. Issues may be caused by Allsorter, Bullhorn, the Bullhorn integration, user access, candidate records, or attached resume files.

Before you start troubleshooting, check the Bullhorn status page

Bullhorn publishes updates about current incidents, scheduled or emergency maintenance, affected systems, and affected clusters. If Bullhorn is having an outage or maintenance period, the Allsorter integration may not work as expected until Bullhorn resolves the issue.

If the Bullhorn status page shows an active issue, wait until the incident is resolved before continuing with detailed troubleshooting.

Basic Troubleshooting

If Bullhorn shows all systems are operational, try the following basic checks:

  1. Refresh the page and try opening Allsorter again from the candidate profile.
  2. Log out of Bullhorn and log back in.
  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  4. Close your browser completely, then reopen it.
  5. Try using another supported browser, such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  6. Check that the candidate record has a resume attached.
  7. Check that you have the correct Bullhorn permissions to access the candidate record and use the integration.

If you still cannot access Allsorter after completing these checks, fill out the support form and include the following details:

  • The browser you are using
  • A screenshot of the issue or error message with a visible timestamp
  • Confirmation that the Bullhorn Status page has not identified any active issues

Allsorter tab not appearing for any user

If none of your users can see the Allsorter tab in a Bullhorn candidate record, work through these checks in order:

  1. Confirm the integration is active
Check with your Bullhorn admin that your Bullhorn account has already been linked to Allsorter.
  2. Clear your browser cache and cookies
A stored session can sometimes stop the Bullhorn tab from loading correctly.
  3. Close the browser fully, then open Bullhorn again and try the candidate profile once more.
  4. Check the Bullhorn candidate layout
Ask your Bullhorn admin to confirm that the Allsorter tab has been selected in the layout settings for the Candidate entity.
  5. In some Bullhorn setups, the tab may also appear under the More dropdown if there are many ribbon options.
  6. Correct integration setup by Bullhorn
If your Bullhorn admin confirms that the Allsorter tab does not appear at all in Bullhorn admin settings, the integration may not have been configured correctly on the Bullhorn side.
Contact Bullhorn Support and ask them to confirm they have applied the correct integration details for your account. If Bullhorn originally shared setup details by email, you can reply to that email thread to ask them to review the configuration.
  7. Check the custom tab configuration
The custom tab can be corrected by Bullhorn Support or by your internal Bullhorn admin.
    1. In the Candidate entity, Bullhorn should:
      1. add the Allsorter URL provided during setup,
      2. choose the correct user types who should see the tab, and
      3. enable the tab.
    2. If any of these steps were missed or configured incorrectly, the Allsorter tab may not appear.

Error: “Required Parameter (Original URL) not found!”

This error is most commonly related to browser behaviour, especially in Safari.

  1. Try another browser
If possible, open Bullhorn and Allsorter in another supported browser such as:
    1. Google Chrome
    2. Mozilla Firefox
    3. Microsoft Edge
  2. If you are using Safari, turn off Prevent cross-site tracking
    1. Open Safari.
    2. In the top left of your screen, click Safari.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Open the Privacy tab.
    5. If Prevent cross-site tracking is enabled, untick it.
    6. Close the settings window.
    7. Return to Bullhorn and try opening Allsorter again.

Cannot find the Add User button

If your account is connected to an ATS, you may not see an Add User button inside Allsorter.

This is expected. ATS-integrated accounts cannot add users directly from the organization user table within Allsorter.

For ATS-integrated accounts, users are usually added when they access Allsorter through the ATS for the first time. This allows Allsorter to create the user based on their ATS access and permissions.

If a user cannot access Allsorter through the ATS, check that:

  1. The user has access to the correct ATS account.
  2. The user has permission to open candidate records.
  3. The user is opening Allsorter from the correct candidate profile or action menu.
  4. The user is enabled in Allsorter, if it is a returning user.

Important: Do not try to add ATS-integrated users manually from Allsorter. If the user still cannot access Allsorter after checking the above, fill out the support form.

Org admins and managers for ATS-integrated accounts will not see an "Add User" button in the settings section of Allsorter since users get automatically provisioned through

Red error message in Bullhorn

If Allsorter opens but displays a red error message, check the following:

  1. Check Bullhorn status
Review the Bullhorn status page to confirm there is no active outage or maintenance affecting your cluster.
  2. Check whether the issue affects one user or the full team.
    1. If the issue affects only one user
Ask the Bullhorn admin to check
      1. the affected user record for special characters or unexpected spaces in: first name, last name and email address and
      2. that the affected user has been included in the Bullhorn user type that has access to the Allsorter tab.
      3. Ask the user to clear browser cache and cookies, close the browser completely, then reopen Bullhorn and try again.
    2. If the issue affects the entire team, there may be an issue with the integration setup on Bullhorn's side
  3. If Bullhorn has no downtime and their Support confirms the issue is not on their side, fill out the support form.
    1. Remember to include a screenshot that shows:
      1. the full browser window,
      2. the error message, and
      3. the computer timestamp.
      4. also include your timezone.
    2. inform Customer Success if the issue is impacting one user or the entire team.
