Why is the resume missing information?
Learn how Allsorter’s advanced features optimize parsing for complex and non-standard files.
Deep Extract
Allsorter is designed to provide fast, accurate resume parsing for the vast majority of CV formats. However, in some cases—particularly for clients working in niche verticals such as academia, research, or project-based industries—CVs may follow highly customized or atypical layouts. In these scenarios, the initial standard extraction may not fully capture all relevant experience and data points.
To address this, Allsorter includes an advanced processing feature known as Deep Extract.
Watch this guide to understand how to use the Deep Extract feature to improve extraction and accuracy where needed.
Step-by-step guide
-
Upload the Resume
Allsorter will run a fast initial extraction automatically. -
Need More Detail?
If experience data appears incomplete or overly simplified, click Deep Extract for a more advanced analysis. -
Allow Extra Time
Deep Extract takes longer but delivers significantly improved results for complex or non-standard CVs. -
Refine if Needed
Use Retry AI to re-run Deep Extract if the output is still not accurate. This option appears after the first Deep Extract run.
Note: Deep Extract is specifically designed to improve results on resumes that deviate from standard formatting. While it may take more time to complete, the resulting extraction is more comprehensive and accurate.
Reading PDF's
While Allsorter typically handles PDFs with precision, there are instances where the system may struggle to extract data from certain tricky files. This can happen due to the formatting or complexity of the original document. Thankfully, there is a simple solution: the Reparse as a DOCX feature. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
Step-by-Step Guide to Reparse as a DOCX
-
Click on the engine cog symbol located next to the template dropdown at the top of the page.
Access the Reparse Feature:
- From the dropdown menu, choose the Reparse as DOCX option.
-
Wait for Processing:
- Allow Allsorter to reprocess the file. The system will convert the PDF to a DOCX format, which will take you to the main dashboard. The file will be appearing as a recently uploaded document.
-
Check the Results:
- Review the newly parsed file to ensure that all information has been extracted correctly.
Why Does This Happen?
Allsorter is designed to handle most PDF formats seamlessly. However, certain PDFs—especially those with unusual formatting, images in place of text, or excessive embedded elements—may pose challenges. By converting the document to DOCX, Allsorter can better interpret the data and ensure accurate extraction.
