# Automatic Skills Selection

## Find out how the skills sections work in Allsorter.

Allsorter automatically mines the CV to extract key skill words.

Allsorter mines the entirety of the candidate's CV to extract and optimise key skill words. These can be computer skills, hard and soft skills, and language skills.

The padding around a skill word will not automatically be brought over to the reformatted CV. However, if you would like to add this to a particular skills' section simply copy and paste the required information from the original CV.  

For example, if the candidate states “Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office”, Allsorter will automatically add “Microsoft Office” to the skills section of the CV.

### Custom Skills Selection

The Custom Skills Selection feature helps the parser focus on specific skills that matter the most to you. With this feature, you can choose which skills to extract from each resume and limit extraction to only your selected keywords, ensuring full control over what appears in the final output.
