How to Manage Templates

Use this page to manage your templates behind the scenes: rename them, set a default export file suffix, and define the workflow order (section order) used across Allsorter.

Template access and management are available only for self-managed accounts created directly via the website.
If your account is not self-managed, please contact the Customer Success team at support@allsorter.comom for any template changes.

Who this is for

Admins and anyone who maintains your organisation’s templates.

Rename a template

  1. Go to Templates in your admin/backend area.
  2. Open the template you want to update.
  3. Update the Template name field.
  4. Click Save.

Why it matters: The template name appears in template pickers for your team. Use a naming convention like Brand – Role Family – Version (e.g., Acme – Sales – v3).

Set the default export file suffix

Define a standard suffix that is appended to every file you export with this template (PDF/DOCX). Example output: Firstname Surname – YourSuffix.pdf.

  1. Open the template in Edit mode.
  2. Locate Export Suffix.
  1. Enter the suffix text you want applied to all exports with this template. Keep it short and consistent (e.g., your brand, geography, or language code: _ACME, _UK, _FR).
  2. Save.

Tips

  • Avoid characters your OS may block in file names (/, \\, *, ?, :", <, >, |).
  • Decide at the org level whether suffixes reflect brand, region, language, or business line, and document it.

Configure workflow order (section order)

Control the default order of sections used by Allsorter so it matches the way your team edits inside the app.

  1. Open the template in Edit mode.
  2. Go to Workflow / Sections (or Section Order).
  3. Drag and drop to set the order of sections (e.g., Summary → Skills → Experience → Education → Certifications → Extras).
  4. Save your changes.

What the order affects

  • The default order your users see when working with this template in Allsorter.
  • The order used when documents are generated/exported, unless a user changes it during editing.

Good practices

  • Match the order to your internal style guide.
  • Every time you change a template and re‑upload it, Allsorter treats it like a new template and resets the section order to the default. After each upload, revisit Workflow / Sections and reorder the sections for working inside Allsorter.
