Extraction stops at a certain point
What to do if extraction stops partway through a section or does not extract anything beyond a certain point in the CV/resume.
Sometimes a CV or resume appears to extract correctly at the start, but then the extraction stops partway through a section such as Experience or Education.
This can happen even when the file looks well structured to a reader.
Why this happens
The parser identifies likely section boundaries based on headings and layout patterns. If the CV contains non-standard subheadings inside a section, the system may interpret them as the start of a new section.
Examples include headings such as:- Achievements
- Projects
- Publications
- Research
- Key highlights
In some documents, images placed between text blocks can also interrupt extraction.
How to troubleshoot
- Check exactly where extraction stops in the Extraction Analysis panel.
- Look at the heading or content immediately after that point.
- If the file includes section-like labels such as Achievements or Projects inside an experience entry, the parser may have treated that as the end of the main section.
- If the CV contains images between text blocks, this may also interrupt extraction.
Ways to improve the result
- Try Deep Extract in the Experience section for more detailed extraction of complex or non-standard layouts.
- If the issue occurs in a PDF, use Reparse as DOCX.
- If the document contains images between text blocks, converting it into a cleaner text-based file offline and uploading it again may improve results.
- If possible, remove the specific heading where extraction stops in the original file, save the file, and upload it again.
- Manually copy any missing content into the right-hand edit panel if only a small section is affected.
When to contact support
Please contact support if:- multiple CVs that previously worked are now failing in the same way
- preview or export still fails after removing pasted formatting
- the issue affects all files rather than one document
- the candidate name or file name
- whether the issue affects one file or multiple files
- whether the original file is PDF or DOCX
- the template being used
- a screenshot of the issue, if possible
