Tone, Tense & Length
Control the tone, tense, and level of detail in your content
This group of features helps you control the tone, tense, and level of detail in your CV or resume. They allow you to change how content is written without changing the underlying information, making it easier to match different hiring manager formats, roles, or company preferences.
These features are available through the AI tools dropdown when editing a section, or by applying AI actions to checked sections.
Watch our guide on how to use AI Tools within Allsorter.
Here is how you can use each feature:
Tone of Voice
Adjusts the writing style of the selected text. You can switch between tones such as professional (formal), relaxed (sasual), or chatty (informal and friendly), depending on how formal or conversational the content needs to be. You can choose the tone that best suits the client's culture or the job role.
Watch this guide to understand the Tone of Voice feature.
Past Tense
This feature automatically converts verbs into the past tense, a standard practice for the Experience section when describing roles or accomplishments that are no longer current. By distinguishing past roles from active responsibilities, it ensures your timeline remains grammatically accurate and provides a clear professional narrative for recruiters.
Watch this guide on the Past Tense feature to see how it works.
Expand
Adds more detail to selected CV/resume text by elaborating on responsibilities, skills, and achievements. Use it when a section feels too brief or lacks context, as it enriches the content with added depth and explanation to better showcase the candidate's experience and accomplishments.
Concise
Shortens the selected text by removing unnecessary words while keeping the key information intact. Useful for tightening sections that feel too long.
AI Reduced Summary
Condenses longer summaries into a shorter version while preserving the main points. This applies to both user-written and AI-generated summaries.
The availability of these features may vary by account. If any of these options are not visible in the editing interface, contact Customer Support.
